Coming on your own? So does almost everyone.
You'll be welcomed at the door and pointed toward a name tag, a drink, and a conversation already in progress, so there's no standing around scanning the room for someone to talk to.
Most women show up solo, so no one expects you to arrive with a group. Everyone's here to meet someone new, which makes it easy to jump in. Stay for one conversation or ten; both are exactly right.
